据日刊报道,为了研究与解释在海洋生物中发生的生物现象,并开发各种利用海洋生物资源的基本技术,日本政府制订了海洋生物技术计划。 日本拥有占据世界第六位的200英里经济海域。展望21世纪。日本希望通过利用高新技术跃居研究与发展海洋生物资源领域的前茅。迄今为止,生物技术主要是通过研究比较容易获得的陆地生物而发展起来的。但是,海洋被认为是最早的生命起源的地点,而且海洋生物在总数量和多样性方面都要远远超过陆地生物。
According to the Japanese Journal, the Japanese government has formulated a plan for marine biotechnology in order to study and explain the biological phenomena occurring in marine life and to develop various basic technologies that utilize the resources of marine life. Japan has the 200-mile economic sea that occupies the sixth place in the world. Looking to the 21st century. Japan hopes to leapfrog the research and development of marine living resources by using high technology. To date, biotechnology has been developed primarily through the study of more readily available terrestrial organisms. However, the oceans are considered to be the earliest sites of origin of life, and marine organisms far outweigh the terrestrial organisms in terms of both their overall quantity and diversity.
