我厂是1971年建立的,原是日处理甘蔗50吨的小型糖厂,1972年在黑龙江省和平糖厂的帮助下,在甘蔗制糖的基础上增加了部分甜菜制糖设备,变成了甘蔗甜菜联合加工的糖厂,为甜菜制糖工业生产开辟了新区。我厂位于江汉平原,长江北岸,紧靠武汉,海拔30多米,土地为湖泊沉积土和江河冲积土,年平均气温在16.5℃左右,年平均最低气温在3℃以上,年平均无霜期在250天左右。初霜在11月下旬,终霜在次年3月上中旬。年平均降雨量1000～1100毫米。土质肥沃,气候温和,雨量充足,较适应甜菜的生长。我厂制糖原料种植在本农场沿长江
