所谓“最优化”,就是在完成某一任务的所有可能的方案中找出最好的那个方案。从这个意义上看,对任何问题,只要存在不止一个可行方案,就都有最优化的问题。过去完全是靠人的经验判断,或作少数几个方案进行比较来解决。但对结构设计而言,可行方案有无限多个,要从中找出最优方案,首先必须解决数学的和力学的方法问题,然后解决快速准确的计算工具问题。所以,虽然早就存在结构设计最优化的愿望和设想,但直到最近十几年才得以迅速发展而形成一个崭新的学科。进入七十年代才出现结构抗震最优设计的研究成果。
The so-called “optimization” is to find the best solution among all possible solutions for accomplishing a task. From this point of view, as long as there is more than one feasible solution to any problem, there will be an optimization problem. In the past, it was entirely up to the people’s experience to judge, or to make a few comparisons. However, for structural design, there are infinitely many possible solutions. To find the optimal solution from it, we must first solve the mathematical and mechanical method problems, and then solve the problem of fast and accurate calculation tools. Therefore, although long ago there was a desire and assumption for the optimization of structural design, it was not until the last decade or more that rapid development was achieved and a new discipline was formed. Into the 1970s, research results on the optimal design of structural earthquake resistance emerged.
