本文根据弯道环流水砂分流原理，重点论证了河道凹岸坍塌后，泥砂横向交换淤积在凸岸，并用几何法估算出凸岸积砂量；对直线河段内悬移质、推移质泥砂的冲淤量，运用输砂率法和断面法进行估算，做了一般性阐述。通过对河道泥砂淤积量的估算，可以有计划地开采河砂资源并提高管理费收缴率。此外，对整治疏浚河道，也有积极的意义。
