Many people vowed to control the diet, but can not stop seeing the delicious mouth. Why can not resist the temptation? Scientists say, because of a brain area called the prefrontal cortex. The University of Illinois at Chicago experimented with mice. Training the rats to know that pressing a joystick gave them small pills and training them to receive a signal indicating “STOP” without pressing the joystick. The researchers found that when rats received the “can” and “stop” signals, some nerves in the central prefrontal cortex became active.
