Objective To analyze the demand and influencing factors of smoking cessation by naval pilots. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the current awareness of smoking hazards and the demand for smoking cessation and the influencing factors among active naval pilots who had a history of smoking or current smoking habits and analyzed the results. Results A total of 285 valid questionnaires were collected. Pilots admitted that smoking was harmful to their health. 45.3% of the pilots had the intention to quit smoking, while only 13% of pilots quit smoking successfully, with the largest number of relapses after a period of 1-3 months of abstinence, accounting for 53.7%. Conclusions There are quite a few smoking pilots in Navy who have the intention and demand of smoking cessation. However, the lack of scientific methods and guidance leads to a low success rate of smoking cessation and requires further health education and guidance.
