Objective To investigate the clinical effect of atorvastatin on vascular endothelial function in hypertensive patients with hyperlipidemia. Methods From October 2009 to December 2010, 167 patients with hypertension and hyperlipidemia in a hospital were enrolled. All patients were divided into observation group (atorvastatin 20mg, n = 84) and control group (Atorvastatin 10mg, n = 83). Atorvastatin was taken before bedtime once a day for 6 months. The changes of blood pressure, blood lipid and endothelial function were compared between before and after treatment. Results After the intervention, blood pressure, blood lipid level and endothelial function in both groups were improved to some extent, which were significantly different from those before intervention (P <0.05); and the improvement in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group , Compared with before intervention, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusions Atorvastatin can significantly improve the vascular endothelial function in hypertensive patients with hyperlipidemia, and it is related to the dose.
