Since the publication of “Chinese Willow Tree Bark orchid” in the August 2002 issue of “Chinese Flower Bonsai,” a number of calls and letters have been received, some of which are quite interesting and others raised some questions. In addition to answering questions on the spot, I feel that it is necessary to talk about these issues in detail. The new bark, sterilization and sterilization after why there will be mildew phenomenon? I believe that after sterilization, the bark contains too much water or the bark caused by wet. Freshly picked willow bark used in the basin before, should be dry to the semi-dry. Semi-dry bark will not moldy phenomenon. Second, in order to be safe and proper, it is recommended that the bark should be fermented, and then be planted and planted blue. There is no problem of moldiness, so it can be used with confidence. Method of preparation: the processed, sterilized bark wet into a sealed plastic bag or other closable plastic bucket, stored at high temperatures or a summer exposure, one year after use. Jun asked, other bark can also be used to plant the blue? The answer is yes. But other bark does not contain “aspirin.”
