Due to stroke and the aging metabolism of common mammals, some reactive chemicals called free radicals are produced in the human brain. These chemicals can cause brain tissue damage. Now a medical team is using near-infrared spectroscopy to evaluate the utility of drugs that one day can be used to treat stroke and age-related diseases.
