British Marxist critic Terry Eagleton literary works by the European and many critics and theorists influence, many people have discussed. However, the important influence that historian Perry Anderson has had on him has not been clearly pointed out yet. This article argues that Anderson’s expositions on the 17th-century British revolution and the uniqueness of modern British capitalism have, to a certain extent, shaped his historical view of British literary criticism and provided him with an important insight into the intrinsic relations between literary studies and real politics Social and historical reference frame. Eagleton’s excavation and analysis of the cultural conservatism implied in modern British literary criticism is mainly due to Andersson’s wonderful explanation of the political conservatism prevailing in modern British society. The article also points out that the related writings also help to explain a phenomenon often overlooked in the British novels of the 18th and 19th centuries: Compared with the contemporary European novels, English novels have been backing their own aristocrats from Unlike the novels of the major European countries, they have not fiercely criticized or even completely denied the ideology and rule of their own aristocrats.
