Based on the theory of point engagement indexing cam mechanism and the principle and technology of worm gear drive, the transmission problems under error condition, the basic concepts and forms of error and variation are discussed in detail. The basic equation of the relationship between error and variation of high vice mechanism reveals the inherent regularity between error and variation.
