兰科植物种类繁多,千姿百态。云南省兰属(Cymbidium sp.)自然分布最为广泛,资源丰富,被誉为云南八大名花之一。野生兰属植物在自然条件下种间能自然杂交,常常产生众多的优良类型。根据现有的调查资料,云南省兰属植物有22个种或变种,在种以下还有一些优良的类型。例如野生的浅叶春兰(Cymbidium lienpan)就已发现有50余个不同形态特征的野生类型。朵朵香兰花(C.virescens)有6个野生类型。分布在滇东北各地的春花剑兰(C.
