汽车覆盖件大多是用较薄的钢板冲压而成的。在冲压过程中,有时板料会产生回弹。在试制及制造冲模时,用通常的万能量具很难检查所冲压零件的正确性;同时冲模经一段时间使用后会磨损,用修理后的冲模所冲压的零件是否合格也没有依据。这样,就保证不了产品的质量,因此覆盖件的检验夹具是十分需要的。钢制的检具制造费工、费时,不能适应汽车产品变型的要求。第二汽车制造厂的检具是用环氧塑料、玻职钢等制成的,它具有制造周期短、造价低、使用寿命长、测量精确、操作简便、工作迅速等优点。本文着重介绍这种检具的制造过程和使用。
