In the study and teaching of British and American poetry, we lack a Chinese cultural perspective. From the preparation of teaching materials, criticism and appreciation of works and even teaching methods, often the first Western standards are looking forward to, and others. We tend to downgrade ourselves to Western appendages and herders, lacking in autonomy and creativity. Foreign teachers who teach English and American poetry have the advantage of being familiar with their own language and culture. However, lack of understanding of Chinese language and culture is actually a disadvantage. And our teachers tend to put aside their own language and cultural background of the advantages of their own students and students as Westerners, step by step to imitate Westerners, combined with the grasp of English and Anglo-American culture as foreign teachers, teaching effectiveness can only be Wait.
