母语文化的缺失是当前中国大学生英语语言学习中普遍存在的问题,忽略了母语文化的英语教学阻碍了学习者跨文化交际能力的培养。该文分析了“母语文化”在提高学生英语水平、提高学生跨文化交际能力及弘扬中国传统文化方面所起的认知正迁移效用,呼吁在英语教学中不仅要改变传统的英语学习观念,培养第三空间意识,还要加强母语文化的传承,使得母语文化在多元文化互动中知彼知己,融合互补,共同发展。
The lack of native language culture is a common problem in Chinese college students ’English language learning. Ignoring the native language culture, English teaching hinders the cultivation of learners’ intercultural communicative competence. This paper analyzes the positive transfer of “native culture ” in improving students ’English level, improving students ’ intercultural communication ability and promoting Chinese traditional culture. It calls for not only changing the traditional concept of English learning in English teaching , Foster a sense of the third space, but also strengthen the heritage of the mother tongue culture, making the mother tongue culture in the multi-cultural interaction of self-serving, mutual complementarity and common development.
