The impact of tea plantations on stream water quality and zoobenthos community is receiving increasing attention. In April 2007, we investigated the impacts of streams and non-interference references in Fuyang, Jiande, Wuyi and Songyang Counties affected by different planting patterns of tea plantations (tea plantations with low mountain forests, tea plantations with alpine forest land and farmland planting tea plantations) A total of 17 samples of water quality and large benthic invertebrates. The results showed that ammonium nitrogen, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, CODMn and conductivity of streams affected by tea garden were higher than those of reference streams. Total nitrogen and total phosphorus of 5.506 mg.L-1 and 0.053 mg.L- 1 was about 2 times higher than the 2.069 mg.L-1 total nitrogen and 0.028 mg.L-1 total phosphorus affected by the alpine tea plantation. The species richness of zoobenthos influenced by the tea plantation in the low mountain-woodland was significantly lower than that of the reference stream (P <0.01). There was no significant difference (P> 0.05) between the affected streams and the reference streams in the tea plantation of alpine forest land. The nMDS analysis of community similarity showed that the stress value was 0.09, And alpine tea plantations interfered with the streams had the highest similarity, and there was also a higher species similarity between farmland-modified tea plantation and farmland-influenced streams.
