据中国工程机械工业协会统计显示,截至2011年年底,中国工程机械主要产品保有量超过500万台,其中液压挖掘机超过120万台。2012年,为应对市场低迷,促进新机销售,很多挖掘机主机厂及代理商大规模开展了挖掘机以旧换新业务,使得挖掘机二手机市场急剧膨胀。与此同时,2011年4月开始,工程机械行业逐渐进入低谷期,无论是产品的销量还是工程的开工率都显示出了疲软状态,至今并没有明显好转的迹象。进入2013年,市场前景依然并不乐观,用户购买心态愈加谨慎,在购买挖掘机时,选择新机还是二手机更适合当下的市场行情和自身的发展需要,是他们必须面对的问题。其原因有两点:
