Five new triterpenoid saponins foliathea-saponinⅠ ~ Ⅴ (1-5) were isolated and identified from the methanolic extracts of Camellia sinensis (L.) O.Kunize. Their effects on β-hexosaminidase Inhibition of release in RBL-2H3 cells. The tea leaves were extracted with methanol three times, and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. A portion of the extract was extracted with ethyl acetate-water and the aqueous phase was extracted with n-butanol.
