The article studies the intertextuality of the narrative discourse of the three novels of Thomas Pynchon in the early period. The intertextuality of narrative discourse is mainly reflected in the following: Intertextuality with European classics; interaction with American classics and Pynchon’s own works Text; and non-literary arts, scientific narrative discourse intertextuality. High intertextuality makes his novels become the hypertext intertextual system in which various narratives are intertwined, constituting one of the major factors in the labyrinth of his novels, reflecting Pynchon’s inheritance and innovation of traditional narrative discourse.
