本文报导过去两年采用外汽相沉积(OVD)工艺制造光纤的进展。迄今,在现有产品的光学和机械性能、掺杂剂变化和单模光纤设计等方面己取得诸多进展。纤芯中不含P_2O_5的多模光纤己得到验证,它具有相同的正向和反向带宽~长度关系,而且防止氢影响的性能也获得改进。此外,本文还提供了最近己投入生产的,用分层纤芯法制造的色散位移单模光纤的数据。
This article reports the progress made in the last two years by using outer vapor deposition (OVD) processes for the manufacture of optical fibers. To date, much progress has been made in the optical and mechanical properties of existing products, dopant variations, and design of single-mode optical fibers. Multimode fiber without P2O5 in the core has been verified to have the same forward and reverse bandwidth-length relationship, and the performance of hydrogen protection is also improved. In addition, this article also provides data for a dispersion-shifted single-mode fiber fabricated by the layered core method, which has recently been put into production.
