Objective To investigate the effect of elevated blood glucose on the prognosis of patients with acute cerebrovascular disease. Methods From September 1996 to December 2006, 106 patients with acute cerebrovascular disease were divided into normal blood glucose group and hyperglycemia group, and the prognosis was compared. Results The percentage of patients with normal blood glucose was significantly higher than that of patients with hyperglycemia (P <0.005), and the proportion of both basic cure and significant improvement was significantly higher than that of patients with hyperglycemia (the difference was statistically significant (P < P <0.05). The proportion of invalid and death in the hyperglycemia group was significantly higher than that in the normal blood glucose group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.025). Conclusions The prognosis of patients with elevated blood glucose in early stage of cerebrovascular disease is obviously worse than that of normal blood glucose.
