朱自清是中国五四时期最出色的散文家之一 ,其代表作《背影》更是在中国散文中享有盛誉。该作品代表了朱自清的风格 :语言平实清晰 ,感情真挚感人 ,这一风格的重视应该是决定译文质量的关键因素。以信、达、切为标准 ,本文旨在对张培基的英译《背影》进行分析评价 ,并着重剖析其在词汇层、语法层和语篇层的风格翻译。总的来说 ,本文认为该译文之于原文 ,不仅内容忠实、表达顺畅且风格十分接近 Zhu Ziqing is one of the most outstanding essayists in China during the May 4th Movement, and his masterpiece “Back View” enjoys a high reputation in Chinese prose. The work represents the style of Zhu Ziqing: the language is clear and plain, the feelings are sincere and touching, and the emphasis of this style should be the key factor that determines the quality of the translation. Based on letter, up, and cut, this article aims to analyze and evaluate Zhang Peiji’s English version of “Back View” and emphasize on the style translation at lexical, grammatical and discourse levels.
