The winter of 2004 was very cold, and in January 2005 the book order in Beijing would be colder. This cold was the coolness of the publisher’s rationalism and the solemnity of the publishing situation. Compared with the lively gatherings in previous years, the number of new book titles dropped significantly this year, and there was less propaganda at a high-profile rate. Although the number of exhibitors was small due to the participation of private book industry, the scale of many booths was quietly shrinking. Meet friends in the industry, most of the convergence of a relaxed look, more serious discussion of the problem. Restructuring, financing, new reform programs, cash back, returns, channels, etc., became the buzzwords in the venue. Before the various statistics came out, there are indications that the pressure and pain caused by the difficult adjustment and restructuring of the publishing industry have shown.
