原始人类的蒙昧意识产生了万物有灵的自然崇拜观念,产生了最初的原始神灵、宗教信仰意识,从而形成了远古时代的民俗。也是人类对生活的一种理解。求生求吉的心理,促使了吉祥文化艺术的形成与成熟。千百年来,各项民俗被一代代传承下来,从一年的年初到岁末,有许许多多的节令习俗充实着人们的生活,它给广大劳动者带来了巨大的精神享受。人类会通过各种物化的形式表现,把自己的祈福与民俗相结合。民俗的物化在各地存在着差异,表现形式也是因地而异。香包便是甘肃庆阳地区的端午节物化祈福形式之一。香包艺术丰富了民俗活动,加强了民俗的功用,扩大了民俗的影响与传承。当然,民俗文化的发展推进了香包艺术的发展,同时香包艺术也丰富了民俗的表现形式。
