Objective To evaluate the value of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) in assessing early curative effect using metastatic lymph node radiotherapy animal model. Methods New Zealand White rabbits VX2 xenograft lymph node model was established and randomly divided into radiotherapy group (n = 10) and control group (n = 7). MRI and DWI were performed before radiotherapy and on days 1,3,7 after radiotherapy , Measure the size of lymph nodes and ADC value. Results There was no significant difference in the volume of lymph node metastasis between the two groups at each time point (P> 0.05). The ADC values of radiotherapy group on the 3rd and 7th day after radiotherapy were 1.267 ± 0.200 and 1.688 ± 0.330 respectively, which were significantly higher than 1.054 ± 0.120 before radiotherapy and 1.040 ± 0.170 (P <0.01) on the first day after radiotherapy. Conclusion Compared with traditional methods, DWI can reflect the changes of lymph node metastasis in experimental animals earlier.
