为避免颌面部血管畸形手术治疗可能引起严重继发畸形，作者为１４例颌面部血管畸形者采用栓塞治疗方法，包括Ｓｅｌｄｉｎｇｅｒ技术插管栓塞治疗、瘤腔穿刺栓塞治疗和解剖式插管栓塞治疗。栓塞材料选用５％的鱼肝油酸钠和明胶海绵颗粒。栓塞治疗后病变部位缩小，出血及其表面搏动和杂音消失，瘤腔闭塞。作者认为５％鱼肝油酸钠和明胶海绵颗粒对血管畸形进行栓塞治疗是可行的，避免了手术治疗带来的面部继发畸形。
