Our country is vast in size, mountainous and hilly, and a large part of it is in arid and semi-arid areas. Due to its complex ecological environment and frequent natural disasters, it has caused huge losses to local people. Speeding up the research on environmental monitoring technology and related theories is of great significance to preventing disasters and improving the ecological environment. To this end, in 2012 the Ministry of Land and Resources approved the construction of a number of key laboratories to speed up the study of relevant theories and put into practice. After years of painstaking research, these key laboratories have made many breakthroughs. Our reporter interviewed He Kaitao, deputy director of the Department of Science and Technology and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Land and Resources, to learn about these laboratories.
