《树·石·云》是美国南方女性作家卡森·麦卡勒斯于1942年发表的短篇小说。小说以南方工业小镇哥伦布为背景,描述了在一家咖啡馆里一个疯癫状态的流浪汉和一个小男孩之间的对话。小说虽然短小,但是却依然体现了麦式作品独有的生存悖论和对爱之无能的探索,是麦式被人津津乐道的短篇小说之一。本文就《树·石·云》中的生存悖论做一解析,以期能更好的了解该篇作品和麦卡勒斯对于生命及人生的探索。
“Tree · Cloud ·” is a short story published in 1942 by the southern American female writer Carson McCullers. In the background of the Columbus, a southern industrial town, the novel describes a conversation between a mad-man and a young boy in a cafe. Although the novel is short, it still embodies the paradox of existence and the exploration of the incompetence of love. It is one of the short stories that Mai Jin was relished. This article analyzes the paradox of survival in “Tree · Stone · Cloud” in order to better understand the work and McCullers’ exploration of life and life.
