As the petrological evidence of plate tectonics, blue-schist rock has become an important issue in current geosciences research with the clarification of its genesis in the past ten years. In September 1983, the American Geological Society held international blue-chip rock and eclogite symposiums in Bellingham, Washington and Seattle. During the meeting, apart from discussing current understanding of the orogenic belt suffering from the metamorphism of the blue schist, the conference also discussed the following seven topics respectively: the phase change experiment of the blue schist, the temperature and pressure measurement of the blue schist, the recrystallization and the structure The relationship between pressure metamorphism after decompression, emplacement and nappe tectonic mode, blue schist rock and mineral age
