太极拳系内家拳。力出于骨,劲蓄于筋,不求皮坚肉厚,而求气沉骨坚,故无张筋错骨之苦,无跳跃奋力之劳。顺其自然,求先天之本能,为返本归原之功夫。练太极拳有三到。神到、意到、形到。如身法正确,神意俱到,则进步甚速,每日有不同之感觉,学者宜细心体味之。如身法不合,神意不到,如火煮空铛,到老无成,有十年太极拳不如三年外家拳之讥。故第一须勤,第二须悟。功夫如何,视智慧如何,但勤能补拙,须自勉之。
