According to a new study, providing summer jobs to underprivileged youth may be an inexpensive and effective way to reduce violence among young people. These results suggest that a minimum wage of 25 hours per week during the summer holidays is sufficient to reduce youth violence by as much as 43% during a 16-month period in Chicago, United States.
