本文以Brown和Levinson的面子理论为基础,来探讨面子理论与大学英语教师课堂提问的关系。面子理论在课堂教学中有着十分重要的作用,尤其是在教师课堂提问的过程中。大学英语教师与已经成年的高校学生在提问与回答的语言交互过程中,难免会出现一些彼此威胁面子行为的发生。因此,本文着重讨论了怎样来看待这些威胁面子的行为及如何来维护面子。
Based on Brownian and Levinson’s face theory, this paper explores the relationship between face theory and college English teachers’ class questions. Face theory plays a very important role in classroom teaching, especially in the process of teacher’s classroom questioning. College English teachers and adult college students in questioning and answering the process of language interaction, there will inevitably be some threat to each other face-to-face occurrence. Therefore, this article focuses on how to deal with these threatening face and how to maintain face.
