20世纪初期,南洋依旧是殖民者的角逐场。殖民者为了维持统治地位,永久地霸占南洋,对于经济、政治、文化、教育各部门,无不采取殖民地化的政策,试图将民众驯化成顺良、服从、尽忠于殖民者的奴仆。本文主要从殖民地管制时期华校教师的待遇、华校师资的培养机构——师范班及存在的问题、从中国聘请师资及存在的问题等三个方面,再现当时马来亚华校教师队伍的整体面貌,并介绍了马来亚华校教师在保留和突出族群文化方面的抗争与坚守。最后,对马来亚华校教师队伍的特点做出总结。
In the early 20th century, Nanyang was still the scene of colonialists.
