The authors applied ABC immunohistochemistry to study the expression and significance of mutant P53 protein in 40 cases of gallbladder carcinoma and 5 cases of normal gallbladder mucosa. The results showed that the positive expression rate of mutant P53 protein in gallbladder carcinoma was 50%, and all normal gallbladder mucosa were negative. The positive rate of mutant P53 protein was significantly different among patients with different pathological grades, lymph node metastasis, and prognosis (P<0.01). No significant correlation was detected during the Nevin fraction (P>0.05). The results suggest that the mutant P53 gene is involved in the malignant transformation of gallbladder tumors. The positive expression rate of gallbladder carcinoma with a high positive rate is an unfavorable prognosis. It is an important indicator to reflect the biological behavior and prognosis of gallbladder carcinoma.
