电子计算机的发明和广泛应用是二十世纪最重大的科学成果之一。它有两个显著的特点:一是电子计算机具有非凡的计算能力,现代最快的电子计算机一秒钟内能进行上亿次的运算。它的计算速度与可靠性(精确度),是人工计算望尘莫及的。二是它可以模拟人的某些感觉与思维功能,能按照一定的规律进行逻辑判断和逻辑推理,代替人们的部分脑力劳动。由于这些特性,电子计算机受到了各国的普遍重视,三十多年来一直在飞速的发展着。
The invention and widespread use of electronic computers was one of the most important scientific achievements of the 20th century. It has two notable features: First, the computer has extraordinary computing power. The fastest computer in modern times can perform hundreds of millions of operations in one second. Its computational speed and reliability (accuracy) are beyond the reach of artificial calculations. The second is that it can simulate some of the people’s feelings and thinking functions, and can perform logical judgments and logical reasoning in accordance with certain laws to replace some of the people’s mental work. Because of these characteristics, electronic computers have received widespread attention from countries and have been developing rapidly for more than 30 years.
