On the afternoon of November 11th, 1998, the O-type blood bank in the blood bank of the Qingyuan Red Cross Society Center was zero, and the city’s technical school, known as the “Qingyuan Intellectual Poverty Alleviation Base,” was mobilized after hearing the news. At 6:30 pm, there was 205 teacher-student employees donated 40850 milliliters of blood, nearly half of which was O-type blood, which relieved the urgent needs of the central blood bank. After the “Blood Donation Act” was implemented, the school promptly invited relevant experts to publicize and mobilize, eliminating the psychological barriers for blood donation from teachers and students, and making them ready to sacrifice their blood. When I heard that O-type blood was in an emergency, the school immediately contacted the city’s Red Cross Society to donate blood collectively. The deputy mayor Yang Ruixian who is currently out of the city’s “two conferences”, Wang Fu, secretary of the municipal government, and Zhang Zhanhui, director of the city’s labor bureau, also used the meeting to break through the gaps.
