For rail vehicle drive couplings, the reliability and life as a criterion are increasingly important. The railroad companies have given manufacturing plants very short development cycles, and it is possible to use fewer structural parts than prototypes or in test equipment. Therefore, the manufacturer is required to confirm the required reliable life not only from the calculation but also from the trial of the previous stage, and to satisfy this requirement by listing the lifetime cost. This article cites specific application examples to illustrate the different standards and methods for ensuring experimentation.
