李鸿章在中国近代史上占有重要的地位,他参与了晚清中国的政治、经济、军事、外交等诸多活动,在中国政治舞台上留下深刻的烙印。他主持签订了一系列不平等条约,也因此背负了不少骂名。但是我们不得不承认李鸿章具有卓越的才能,在戊戌洋务时期就有很明显的体现。事实上李鸿章的很多行为都是代表国家的,近两年史学界也在为他翻案和平反,因为李鸿章已经在尽最大的可能维护国家利益,我们对李鸿章的评价应该实事求是。 Li Hongzhang occupied an important position in the modern history of China. He participated in various activities such as political, economic, military and diplomatic activities in the late Qing Dynasty and left a deep imprint on the Chinese political arena. He presided over the signing of a series of unequal treaties, and therefore bear a lot of infamy. However, we have to admit that Li Hongzhang possesses outstanding qualifications and has shown itself clearly in the period of the Western Reform Movement of 1895. In fact, many acts of Li Hongzhang represent the state. For the past two years, historians have also reversed and rehabilitated him because Li Hongzhang is already trying his utmost to safeguard national interests. Our assessment of Li Hongzhang should be realistic.
