服饰书写是风俗小说中的一个重要组成部分,它能够通过服饰的实体描写揭示服饰特征所隐藏的文化内涵,解读社会时尚背后的隐喻。本文将以此为基点切入作家伊迪丝·华顿最著名的两部风俗小说,用其中大量精确的服饰书写剖析时尚与阶级、性别的关联及其对个人和大众的影响,探讨19世纪末到20世纪初商品/消费社会形成之际老纽约时尚文化的本质特征和它所表现的大众文化的道德观、价值观。
Costume writing is an important part of the customs fiction. It can reveal the cultural connotations hidden in the clothing features and the metaphors behind the social fashion through the physical description of clothing. Based on this, I will cut into two of the most famous custom novels by Edith Wharton. With a large amount of accurate costumes, I will analyze the relationship between fashion and class, gender and its influence on individuals and the general public. The Essential Characteristics of Old New York Fashion Culture and the Moral Outlooks and Values of Popular Culture in the Early 20th Century when Commodity / Consumption Society Formed.
