本文强调当选择桉树种内最佳群体以提高产量和改良其它遗传特性时研究有关育种知识的重要性。若干桉树自然群体自由授粉家系的田间试验表明,群体内和群体间的遗传变异幅度相当大。虽然通常认为桉树是异交占优势,但近来对桉树自交和异交比例的研究表明,桉树各个种的自交和异交之比并不相等,而且其自交程度比松树的自交为高。因此桉树群体的改良,较之松树的改良可能更为重要。
This article emphasizes the importance of researching breeding knowledge when choosing the best population within the species of eucalyptus to increase yield and improve other genetic traits. Field trials of a number of free pollination pedigrees in natural populations of eucalyptus have shown that genetic variability within and among populations is considerable. Although eucalyptus is generally considered as heterogamy, the recent studies on the proportion of selfing and outcrossing of eucalyptus indicate that the selfing and outcrossing ratios of all species of eucalyptus are not equal, and the degree of selfing is higher than that of selfing high. Therefore, the improvement of eucalyptus population may be more important than the improvement of pine trees.
