KA-2M-300型钻机目前在我国地质勘探队使用得比较广泛,因为它具有很多优点:结构简单、拆卸、搬运方便、零件坚固、维修简便,虽然这种手把式给进钻机在操作方面比油压给进钻机费力,但仍有一定使用价值。目前这种钻机的传动方式绝大多数以柴油机作为动力,带动中间轴,中间轴上有三或四个皮带轮,分别带动钻机、泥浆泵、泥浆搅拌机及照明用发电机。这样的传动布置具有下列缺点:
