武汉市现有35万残疾人,其中有11万聋哑人(以下简称为“聋人”),他们是社会上最困难的“无声世界”。 我国自从实行市场经济以来,某些企业生产不景气,经济滑坡,职工下岗待业,首当其冲的是聋哑职工,估计至今为止,我市企业已下岗待业的聋哑职工约3000人,同时近10年来,从聋哑学校毕业后走上社会的聋哑人中除少数由其父母单位帮助安置就业和自谋职业之
There are currently 350,000 disabled people in Wuhan, including 110,000 deaf and mute people (hereinafter referred to as “deaf people”). They are the most difficult “silent world” in society. Since the implementation of a market economy in our country, some enterprises have experienced sluggish production and economic decline. Employees are laid off and unemployed. The deaf and dumb workers are the first to bear the brunt. It is estimated that so far, the number of deaf-mute workers in our city has been laid-off and unemployed is about 3,000, and it has been nearly 10 years. A few deaf and mute people who have embarked on the society after graduating from deaf-mute school, except for a few who are assisted by their parents to resettle their jobs and self-employment.
