In order to further study and discuss the various influences brought by globalization and the relationship between globalization and local culture, the Globalization and Local Culture International hosted by Zhengzhou University from June 5-9, 2004 Meeting held in Zhengzhou grand. The 40 delegates from the United States, Canada, Australia, Brazil and other domestic universities and academic institutions, including the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the famous Duke University Professor Jameson (F. Jameson) and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences , J. Hillis Miller, distinguished professor at the University of California, USA. At the conference, delegates discussed in depth the many problems brought about by the globalization process: did economic globalization lead to cultural hegemony or diversification? Can economic production and cultural production be separated? In the context of global capitalism Today, if economy and culture constitute two aspects of the material production of society, how can regional culture remain unchanged when the regional economy is being restructured? If postmodernism is the cultural logic of late capitalism, capitalism Is successfully penetrating every corner of the world, so why postmodern culture is confronted with a variety of indigenous or national resistance? How do people evaluate this resistance? Convergence is a commonly used term, then fusion is a Westernized form of strategy Or is it a localized strategic form? Will convergence eliminate or obscure the cultural hegemony of the West or the United States? How should we understand the globalization of English? Will English replace other weaker languages? Here are the speeches by some of the delegates
