For the purpose of speech expression, the speaker breaks away from the constraint of habit and forms the irony. Irony can not only achieve the meaning to be expressed, but also achieve unexpected comedy effects without directly offensive listeners. This essay is based on the melodrama Hannah Montana as an example, analyzes the communicative reasoning and context from the perspective of relevance theory, and explores how to understand the speech irony in humorous play from the perspective of relevance theory .
