In 1993, seven authoritative international organizations such as ISO, IEC, OIML and BIPM formally promulgated the “Guidance on the Expression of Measurement Uncertainty,” which sets forth general principles applicable to evaluation and expression measurement uncertainty in a wide range of measurement fields. The definition of measurement uncertainty is a parameter that characterizes the dispersion that is reasonably assigned to the measured value in relation to the measurement result.
