洋槐是我场主要树种。洋槐林占现有林总面积的63％。但由于土壤瘠薄、气候干旱,林木生长十分缓慢,10年生洋槐林平均高只有4米;平均胸径只有8～9厘米。树形不正,不能成材。 为解决这一问题,我们在场党支部领导下,于1966年建立了以老工人为主体,吸收干部、技术员参加的“三结合”科研小组,开始对洋槐幼林抚育管理进行了多种试验,并对其不能直立向上生长做了认真调查。
