地质部于七月份在四川省石棉地质队召开了四川、云南、贵州、甘肃、陕西、湖北六省山地工作安全生产现场会议，参加会议代表共60余人，会议采取了边讲、边看、边做、边讨论的方法，交流了手搬钻，吊架双吊锤打眼，机动木鼓风机，自动卸碴木矿车，坚硬岩石中扩底爆破，软岩层深孔爆破等共13个项目，同时介绍了安全和生产的管理经验，并通过响应甘肃省安全生产跃进倡议，提出了山地工作安全生产向全国各局队的竞赛书。
