高中的英语课文比初中的英语课文篇幅更长,难度更大,高一的学生在阅读课文时,有时不免觉得蛮辛苦蛮枯燥。但是在学习课文时,如果能创造性地阅读,灵活解读文本和整合句子,既能增加课文阅读的趣味性又能激发思维能力。
下面以人教版必修3第五单元《Canada-“The True North”》为例讲讲怎样在学习课文的过程中,解读文本,整合句子,增加乐趣。
这个单元的阅读课文《A Trip on“The True North”》是一篇旅游散文,记叙了Li Daiyu和Liu Qian的旅途见闻。本文以时间为线索,以地点转移为顺序描述了加拿大的自然美景、人口、植物、动物、主要城市、五大湖以及淡水资源。在阅读过程中,可以对文章中的句子结构进行整合,同时训练写作技能:
1. 原文句子:Here in Vancouver, you’re in Canada’s warmest part. People say it is Canada’s most beautiful city, surrounded by mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

整合為:With a population of slightly over 30 million, Canada seems quite empty, which makes Canadians live within a few kilometres of the USA border.
亮点:使用介词with结构,表达地大人稀的原因。
5. 原文句子:They went through a wheat-growing province and saw farms that covered thousands of acres.
整合为:Thanks to its warm climate on the west coast, one of its provinces is abundant in wheat, with farms covering thousands of acres.
亮点:添加原因,改用了with的复合结构,改用了“富产(be abundant in)”的表达,丰富了句子的色彩。
6. 原文句子:An urban area, the busy port city of Thunder Bay at the top of the Great Lakes. Ocean ships can sail up the Great Lake.
整合为:Thunder Bay, a busy port city at the top of the Great Lakes, is an urban city with a prosperous business of shipping.
亮点:使用了同位语来说明主语,用了with介词短语作为修饰语。
7. 原文句子:Canada has more fresh water than any other country in the world.
整合为:Because of the Great lakes, Canada has more fresh water than any other country in the world.
亮点:添加原因,丰富句子内容。
