Thirty years ago, when I was a young architectural student, I got lucky to meet Aldo Rossi, who was writing “A Scientific Autobiography” - and in my opinion, the best of his life works. I say this not because of the clear content of this book, but because of the willpower of the Rochesian Ocean to write in the United States. Rossi’s first book, “Urban Architecture,” is the pinnacle of his youth - setting out his prestige in the professional and intellectual circles in a serious, meticulous and well-organized fashion, “Autobiography” is his middle age work. Compared with the magnificent Huang Zhuang in his youth, his “autobiography” is full of longing, fantasy and exploration, giving people the opportunity to re-understand Rossi, a rationalistic typologist. Let him far beyond the contemporaries of those who lack the imagination of peers. Wang Wei Ren’s work gives me a similar shock.
