市场经济作为人类社会发展不可逾越的历史阶段，对人类具有多重意义和作用。从人的生成和发展这一历史视野来看，市场经济的根本意义在于促进普遍的独立个人的生成。社会的发展归根结底是人的发展，而人的发展，归根结底就是个人的发展，而只有在市场经济的条件下，个人才能获得独立的人格，形成具有自主性的独立个人。市场经济是个人独立活动的社会化交往形式：（１）它使人类原有的人身依赖关系变为对物的依赖关系，突破了血缘和地域纽带的历史局限性，在人们之间第一次建立起真正普遍的广泛社会联系；（２）它打破了社会关系对人的先天束缚，赋予人以更大的主动性和能动性；（３）它打破了人格从属的等级关系，把人置于对等地位，因而使人获得了彼此平等的权利
As an insurmountable historical stage in the development of human society, the market economy has multiple meanings and roles for mankind.
